The VinUni grading system: letter grades, and why the rubric decides them
VinUni marks on an American-style letter scale with pluses and minuses, converted to a four-point GPA. Unlike the Australian campuses, VinUni does not publish a single university-wide percentage boundary for each letter, which puts more weight on the rubric attached to your individual course. That rubric is the document MAAS reads, and each criterion in it is marked separately.

Because there is no published percentage map, asking whether a draft is worth eighty percent is the wrong question at VinUni. The answerable question is which descriptor in your course rubric the work currently matches, and what the next descriptor up asks for that the draft does not yet do.
Grades of A through D minus carry credit and F does not. Some courses run on a Pass or Fail basis instead, which changes what feedback is useful: on a Pass or Fail course the marginal work is threshold work, not band-lifting work. Graduation requires a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00.
