MAAS gives an estimated grade against your unit's own rubric for Vietnamese-German University students, with improvement feedback by email in ~1-2 hours. An estimate for reference - not your final grade.
Send a draft for a free check ▶◆ What MAAS does for VGU students
You share a Google Drive folder with your own draft, the assignment brief and the rubric. MAAS reads that rubric and marks each criterion, showing the gap to the higher band with concrete feedback - not generic comments. Results arrive by email within about 1-2 hours, free at the estimate tier. For extra certainty, a real MAAS expert can review it and coach you 1:1.
◆ Grade bands at VGU
VGU evaluates on the German grade scale and the Vietnamese ten-point scale together, with an official conversion between them published in the university's general examination regulation. The two scales run in opposite directions, so a single result carries two numbers that move the other way from each other. MAAS marks your own draft against the rubric your module attached.
| German grade | Vietnamese grade |
|---|---|
| 1.0 | 9.5 to 10 |
| 1.3 | 9.0 to 9.4 |
| 1.7 | 8.5 to 8.9 |
| 2.0 | 8.0 to 8.4 |
| 2.3 | 7.5 to 7.9 |
| 2.7 | 7.0 to 7.4 |
| 3.0 | 6.5 to 6.9 |
| 3.3 | 6.0 to 6.4 |
| 3.7 | 5.5 to 5.9 |
| 4.0 | 5.0 to 5.4 |
| 5.0 | below 5.0, fail |
On the German scale a lower number is a better result. 1.0 is the top grade and 5.0 is a fail, which is the reverse of every other campus on this page. The pass threshold sits at 4.0, equivalent to 5.0 on the Vietnamese scale and to roughly fifty percent of the performance range.
For degrees awarded by a German partner university, the degree grade follows that partner's own examination regulation rather than VGU's table, so a student on a double-degree track should read both. VGU's own certificates classify Vietnamese scores as Excellent from 9.0, Very good from 8.0, Good from 7.0, Satisfactory from 6.0 and Sufficient from 5.0.
