◆ Grade bands at RMIT
The RMIT grading system: HD, DI, CR, PA and NN explained
RMIT publishes a single grading scale across the university, and it is unusually regular: five bands, each exactly ten marks wide. That regularity matters when you are looking at a draft, because it means every band boundary is a round number and the distance to the next one is always readable. You share your own draft, the assignment brief and the course rubric; MAAS marks each criterion against that rubric and shows which criterion is holding the band down.

The step from 79 to 80 is worth more than one mark. It changes the grade name and moves the course a full point on RMIT's four-point GPA, from 3 to 4. A draft sitting in the high seventies is therefore not a draft that needs polishing everywhere; it needs the one criterion nearest its band ceiling identified and lifted.
That is the question worth answering before you submit, and it is the question a criterion-by-criterion read of your rubric answers.

No. MAAS is an independent service, not affiliated with or endorsed by RMIT University Vietnam. We only state our ability to grade against the rubric of units taught there.
Is the grade MAAS gives my final grade?
No. It is an ESTIMATE for reference and may differ from your lecturer's mark. Always confirm with your unit lecturer.
What if my unit isn't in the list?
Send it anyway. The list is only examples - MAAS grades against the rubric you attach, so any unit with a rubric works.
